Frequently asked questions

What medications do you prescribe?

Zepbound (tirzepatide) is an FDA-approved prescription medication for chronic weight management. It works by activating both GIP and GLP-1 receptors and is our primary recommendation, producing up to 22.5% body weight reduction in clinical trials. We also offer Wegovy® (semaglutide), which targets GLP-1 only and produced up to 17% weight loss — a strong option for patients who prefer semaglutide.

How is this different from compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide?

We prescribe the brand-name Zepbound, Foundayo, or Wegovy — not compounded versions. Brand-name medications go through rigorous FDA testing for safety, purity, and efficacy. Compounded alternatives don’t have the same regulatory oversight, and the FDA has signaled increasing enforcement concerns. If you’re currently on a compounded GLP-1 and considering switching, our switching guide covers pricing, safety, and how to transition safely.

Do I need insurance?

No — Valitide is built for direct-pay access. We route every prescription to the manufacturer's pharmacy: LillyDirect for Zepbound, or NovoCare Pharmacy for Wegovy. You pay the manufacturer's published self-pay rate plus a flat Valitide subscription for your care team. We don't bill insurance and we don't handle prior authorizations — if your insurance covers GLP-1s, you may be better served by a full-service telehealth platform.

How long does it take to get started?

The online assessment takes about 5 minutes. A licensed provider typically reviews your assessment within 24–48 hours. If approved, your prescription is routed to LillyDirect or NovoCare Pharmacy for shipment to your door — or to a local pharmacy you choose for pickup.

What about the peptides listed on your site?

Valitide started as a peptide education platform and we continue to publish independent guides and research. On April 15, 2026, the FDA removed 12 peptides (including BPC-157, TB-500, Epitalon, and Semax) from Category 2, and an advisory committee is scheduled to review the first batch for legal compounding status on July 23–24. Once the FDA finalizes Category 1 designation, we plan to offer prescription access through licensed 503A compounding pharmacies. Weight loss treatment with Zepbound, Foundayo, and Wegovy is available now.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees. You can pause or cancel your subscription at any time through your account.
